The story behind the animation: 

When Jonny, my new neighbour, suggested that he could make a short animation inspired by my ceramic elephant, I was delighted.  His concept was that it should be set in my studio in the late afternoon, where Donny the elephant comes alive with the last few golden rays of the sun.  He climbs out of the now ruined White House and is distracted by a passing butterfly. 

Below are a few words from Donny himself:

“A butterfly”, he whispered.  “Look at that – beautiful, just beautiful.  Is that a Monarch? Probably the best butterfly, folks.  Tremendous colours, you don’t see butterflies like that any more.  These are the best butterflies, believe me!

You know, people say butterflies are weak.  But they fly thousands of miles, ok?  I respect that.  Strong butterfly. Very strong!”
